Northwood Technical College has collaborated with the West Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board (WCW) and Northwest Wisconsin Workforce Investment Board (NWWIB) to extend financial support and training initiatives for students across our region.
GEAR
The GEAR Program, (Guidance, Education, Readiness for Youth and Young Adults) through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, provides FREE comprehensive support and financial assistance, to pursue education, skills training, and career development for youth and young adults, ages 14-24, seeking to overcome barriers and succeed in the workforce. This program is offered through WCW.
Counties Served: Barron, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, and St. Croix.
NWWIB
The Northwest WI Workforce Investment Board offers support to Northwood Tech students, guaranteeing access to various financial aid resources and aiding in the discovery of external funding opportunities as needed. Resources encompass a variety of essential needs, which may include assistance with childcare expenses, funding for car repairs, uniforms and support for additional necessities, among other vital elements crucial for students' well-being and academic success.
Counties Served: Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Price, Iron, Rusk, Taylor, and Washburn.
