Strategic Education for Success.
I was accepted into 88 colleges when I sent out my applications in 2019 when I graduated from high school. I chose Northwood Tech to support my family and stay close to my siblings while still being able to progress toward my educational and career goals. I appreciated that our school was close by and affordable without compromising a quality education. I graduated from the Criminal Justice and Finance programs from our college and am currently working towards my Business Management and Human Resource Management degrees. Northwood Tech allowed me to gain a firm understanding in this array of topics without breaking my budget. I chose the Human Resource Management and Business Management programs to aid in the development and growth of the small sustainable fashion business that I started at just 19-years-old. As a result of the coursework, I have taken from our college and the network I have developed from our instructors and extra-curricular opportunities, I am on track to surpass six figures of profit in 2024. Once I complete my undergraduate coursework, I plan to attend law school to practice corporate financial law, which is why I sought out the Criminal Justice and Finance programs with Northwood Tech.
Thriving in Business and Leadership
I am a very involved and well-rounded individual. I work full-time at Thrivent Financial as a Financial Analyst in the suitability department. I also have owned and operated my small business for the past three years and am in the process of hiring two part-time employees. I am honored to serve as the Wisconsin State President for Business Professionals of America, the Northwood Tech Chapter President for Business Professionals of America, the Northwood Tech Student Body President for the New Richmond Campus, and the New Richmond representative as our school moves toward a one-college model. I competed at the National Leadership Conference in April 2023 for Business Professionals of America, where more than 7,000 individuals were in attendance. There, I earned 1st place in Entrepreneurship, 1st place in Interview Skills, and 2nd Place in Contemporary Issues. I was also a scholarship recipient and earned my Ambassador Torch Award, which is the highest level of honor within the organization. I am also very involved with volunteer work. I enjoy doing military care packages, visiting residents at nursing homes, doing letter exchanges with the elderly through the postal mail, and I tutor high school students for their ACT exam. My biggest hobby is reading. I love reading almost all genres of books and have read 124 books so far year to date.
A Driven and Ambitious Achiever.
I graduated from Amery High School in 2019. I earned two career technical education (CTE) specialty diplomas in Family Consumer Science and Business. I also earned two Youth Apprenticeship certifications in Hospitality, Lodging, and Tourism; and finance. I was a local officer for FCCLA, a national qualifier at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference and served as the regional representative for state conferences. I attended Northwood Technical College immediately after high school and earned my Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice in May 2022 and my Associate of Applied Science degree in Finance in May 2023. I am currently studying Human Resource Management and Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing at Northwood Technical College. I am simultaneously attending University of Wisconsin – River Falls where I am studying Communication and Finance on a pre-law track. I plan to finish my studies at Northwood Tech and UWRF in the spring of 2026 and will attend the University of Minnesota for law school in the fall of 2026.
Inspirational Career Aspirations.
After I graduate from law school, I plan to gain employment as a corporate financial lawyer with Thrivent Financial. I also aspire to work at Northwood Tech or a similar college as an instructor in the finance department part-time while working in the legal field. I am also working to scale my business so that I can continue growing and developing my company without needing to be there every day, so I aspire to have a full team of about 20-25 individuals working out of our office in North Oaks, MN. I have been working on my first book regarding habits, motivation, and discipline for the past six months and will plan to submit it to publishers in the summer of 2025 to begin my career as an author as well.
