Course Description:
This 200 hour course is the basic training program mandated by the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Law Enforcement Standards Board and is designed to train officers in the day-to-day operations of a jail facility. The training is also designed as a review for jail officers certified in the State of Wisconsin. Jail officers participating in this course will receive training that refreshes the training that was received during their recruit / basic training. They will also receive training in areas that enhance their ability to perform their duties as a jail officer. Training provided will often include, but not be limited to, the following topics: Principles of Subject Control, Legal update, legal issues, investigations, communication skills, stress management, inmate management, health and safety issues, general jail management, professional communication. Additional testing time will also be included.

Class size will be limited to first 16 registered.
