
Some programs require an admissions test, but most do not. If your program is not listed below, you can skip this step.

If you are applying to one of the following programs, but you don't exactly meet one of the requirements, Northwood Tech's counselors will discuss options with you at your admissions meeting. Remember to bring any transcripts you have and/or to schedule a testing assessment prior to your admissions meeting and Northwood Tech will help you through your next steps.
Programs with Academic Range Requirements
Students considering any of the following programs must take a placement assessment for admissions:
- Apprenticeships: Carpentry, Electrical Construction, Plumbing
- Required assessment for listed apprenticeship programs may be waived if you have met the score requirements for the Classic ACCUPLACER/ACT within the last five years.
- Nursing - Associate Degree
- Required assessment for Nursing may be waived if you have an associate degree or higher, or have previous ACCUPLACER/ACT scores.
Students considering any of the following programs:
- Medical Laboratory Technician
- Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Surgical Technology
- Veterinary Technician
Must meet one of the following items:
- Minimum high school GPA of 2.8
- ACT scores
- Minimum college GPA 2.2 (minimum 3 credits)
- Associate or bachelor's degree
- ACCUPLACER® scores
- Additional measures may be considered as determined by the counselor
Students considering any of the following programs:
- Dental Assistant
- Health Information Technology
- Medical Coding Specialist
- Medical Assistant
- Pharmacy Technician
Must meet one of the following items:
- Minimum high school GPA of 2.1
- ACT scores
- Minimum college GPA 2.0 (minimum 3 credits)
- Associate or bachelor's degree
- ACCUPLACER® scores
- Additional measures may be considered as determined by the counselor
