Biography
After spending a decade sharpening my skills as a surgical tech in the OR, I am more than ready to tackle this role in academia. The countless hours spent in the operating room have not only honed my technical abilities but have also taught me invaluable teamwork and communication skills that will undoubtedly serve me well in this venture. With a sense of humor as sharp as some of the instruments I normally work with, I am excited to bring a bit of wit and levity into the classroom while imparting my vast knowledge and experience onto the next generation of aspiring surgical technologists.
This incredible program allows individuals to gain hands-on experience in operating rooms while receiving a wage and education. By combining classroom learning with practical training, participants will develop the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in this specialized field. With a growing demand for skilled surgical technologists, this program not only offers a promising career path but also provides a pathway for personal and professional growth.
My teaching philosophy and approach, which is rooted in the belief that each student is a unique individual with their own strengths, interests, and learning styles. I strive to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically, challenge themselves, and actively participate in their own education. Furthermore, I believe in building strong relationships with my students based on mutual respect, trust, and empathy. By creating a supportive and inclusive classroom community where every voice is valued, I aim to inspire a love for learning that extends far beyond the walls of the classroom. I am excited to empower my students to reach their full potential and become lifelong learners.
In my free time you can find me, watching my daughter's play school sports, golfing a public 9-hole course in town with my youngest daughter, shopping to add to my HeyDude collection, reading books, and binge-watching an insane amount of documentaries.
