Biography
Paul Gordon is an information technology instructor based on the Ashland campus. He has been teaching IT classes for 13 years at Northwood Tech and has taught nationwide classes for IT instructors as part of the National Convergence Technology Center. Prior to teaching at Northwood Tech, Paul was a student of Northwood Tech’s microcomputer electronics technician program. After graduating from that program, he worked as a systems administrator and adjunct instructor in Duluth, Minn. Over the years, Paul has received certifications in VCP 4, VCP 5, CCNA, CCNA Security, Linux+, Security+, Net+ and A+.
Paul is actively involved with Northwood Tech and the College's students. He is a club advisor for the IT Projects Club. As a service-learning project, Paul helped organize a trip for IT students to Guatemala where they improved the educational technology and networking capabilities for a small school. He also teaches Lego® Robotics each summer to area youth.
Paul’s contributions to the professional field, community and the technical college field earned him Northwood Tech’s 2017 Distinguished Alumnus award.
In his spare time, Paul is active in the Ashland community. He’s a member of the Bay Area Karate Club, North Country Trail Association and the North Coast Association. He is also a board member of the Bay Area Film Society.
