Biography
Joel has 17 years of experience working in the human services field in a number of different capacities. He is able to draw on a variety of clinical experiences in an attempt to make human service material applicable to "real life" vocational experiences. His employment experiences include working as a staff member at a teen center, as an educational leader at a gang violence reduction project, as an information and referral specialist, as a liaison in a juvenile delinquency program for youth with mental health challenges, as a child protection worker and in a lead worker role; as a support worker in a treatment foster care agency; as a social worker in a community-based psychiatric program; and as a psychotherapist. He currently continues to work part time as a psychotherapist at a private practice.
In his free time, Joel enjoys spending time with his family and fishing.
