Biography
Gina Sookiayak has an extensive background in English and language arts. Her previous work experience focused primarily on elementary-aged students, but she also has experience instructing and coaching other teachers. Her teaching philosophy is that we are all learners, just not necessarily on the same day or in the same way. Gina believes in the importance of building relationships in the classroom and making it a safe, comfortable learning environment for everyone.
Gina’s love of teaching stems from her love of learning, and she enjoys watching the “a-ha” moment when a concept clicks with a student and the learning moment has occurred. She believes that a college degree will open up so many opportunities for students and their families.
In her spare time, Gina enjoys spending time with family. She stays busy between work, school, church and sporting activities, but she loves to dive into a good book when she can find the time.
