Biography

Academically, I was blessed with caring and invested Professors whom I try to emulate in my approach to student success. Professionally I dedicated myself to helping others through the military, law enforcement (Local, State, & Federal), firefighting, patrolling, consulting, and management. I continue this approach in the classroom, hoping students not only realize how much I care about their success but truly want them to use their skills and abilities to help make the world a better place for themselves and others.  As a Financial Economist, I have consulted, published peer reviewed research, and taught at a Doctoral I University, Doctoral II University, Master's Comprehensive University, Bachelor's College, and Technical Colleges. This has allowed me to utilize Economics & Financial concepts and methodologies in a variety of applications that I am able to bring into the classroom to illustrate the real world importance of coursework.  I'm also an Accreditation and Quality Initiative Reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission. 

My educational philosophy is based on a holistic and systemic approach to educational success. I implement student centered learning utilizing performance based instruction, universal design and technological enhancement. In order to bring topics to life, I incorporate current real world applications to better help students improve their decision making in their professional, personal, and social lives.

Economists collect and analyze data, research trends, and evaluate economic issues for resources, goods, and services. The median annual wage for economists was $108,350 in 2020 and employment of economists is projected to grow 13 percent from 2020 to 2030, which is faster than the average for all occupations.

Truthfully, I'm just an adrenaline junkie who's up for most anything even though my body is starting to feel otherwise as I get older. I enjoy being active and having fun spending time with family and helping others. My boys are my life, so for fun I enjoy Snowboarding, UTVing, Off-road Motorcycling, Boating, Water Sports, Camping, Traveling, Sports, Coaching, Exercising, etc. with them. For service, I coach Youth Football, Basketball, and Baseball for Northwestern, I'm a National Ski Patroller for Spirit Mountain, and I'm a Firefighter for the Village of Lake Nebagamon, Town of Barnes, and Town of Highland.
