It is embedded in personal and professional relationships and is consistently reported by employers to be the single-most important skill of incoming job applicants. Biography
In the last decade, Sarah Mayhak has worked with both adult and traditional college-age learners. Her experience as a communications instructor at James Madison University is complemented by her work as a corporate trainer where she facilitated the learning of new and existing employees to ensure they felt confident and capable in their new career.
From a very young age, Sarah often found that her most sincere relationships in the classroom were not with her peers, but with her teachers. She fondly remembers the teachers who exuded love and care for their students and hopes to one day make this same impact on her own students. Teaching allows Sarah to be a small part of someone’s big story. Her guiding principle as an instructor at Northwood Tech is to embody an ethos of care to and for every student. This includes 1) knowing every student by name, 2) helping each student to reach their personal and professional goals, and 3) caring about the current and future lives of every student.
In her spare time, Sarah loves music and enjoys going to concerts with her husband. Sarah recently moved back to Wisconsin from Virginia, and she looks forward to spending quality time with her five nephews.
