“Most people don’t have a lot of great things to say about their previous math classes, so that’s why my classes look nothing like the ones you have had before. In every class, my students are working collaboratively to solve new problems in new situations. Together, we get better at communicating, thinking, and yes – math. The combination of those skills prepares my students to be successful when they finish their program.”

Biography
Drew has always been passionate about helping others. In high school, he was fortunate to have the same math teacher every year. They developed a great relationship together, and Drew loved being able to help others with their math problems. He was also blessed with the opportunity to coach a Special Olympics swim team while in high school. Those two experiences pushed Drew into the field of education.
He began tutoring and teaching math in college and has since worked in high school and community colleges in various settings. Drew loves his job because he is challenged with connecting math to the programs offered on campus. He enjoys designing lessons where students can be in charge of their learning. He believes students learn best when they are active learners in the classroom, and he strives to support students so that they can make the connection between their math class and their program classes. Drew feels fortunate to be a small part of each student’s journey through Northwood Tech.
In his spare time, he enjoys working out and spending time with his family and friends. He is a big Marvel fan, so just laying around at home and watching Netflix and Disney+ are relaxing for Drew. He also enjoys browsing YouTube to learn more about saving and investing.
