"The inspiration I have to teach was from mentoring high school students while working in the [automotive] field. I have always enjoyed seeing student's faces light up when they understand what they are doing. I can relate to the students in their frustration and concerns, as I once was a student going through the same process."
Degrees

Biography
The automotive program at Northwood Tech prepared me for the automotive industry with up-to-date information and technology. My work experience played an important role to becoming a well trained instructor here at the college and am able to bring real world experiences I can share with my students.
The automotive industry is constantly evolving with the times. This requires students to be well trained to meet industry standards and we have to most up-to-date training available for them at Northwood Tech to gain the confidence needed to graduate and get a job. The Northwood tech automotive program has two types of accreditation, NC3 and ASE. The partnership with NC3 and ASE helps us keep up to industry standards and evolve as times change.
I enjoy making learning fun but also challenge the students at the same time. The auto lab is a place for the students to make mistakes and learn from them. It helps build confidence when a student knows we all make mistakes and it takes the nervousness out of repairing vehicles. The first semester seems to be where I see the light switch go on for the students. They get excited to see how fun and rewarding it can be repairing vehicles.
My inspiration for becoming a teacher came from giving back to my community and also giving back to the college that I graduated from. I enjoy seeing sense of accomplishment the students get from doing a difficult job and the reward they achieve from completing it.
In my spare time, I spend time with my wife, kids and pets. I also enjoy golfing, bowling and taking time to enjoy a beautiful day.
