Northwood Technical College Instructors Earn Top Honors for Excellence in Online Course Design

Two Northwood Tech faculty members received the Exemplary Course Program (ECP) Award for their exceptional curriculum and coursework in Blackboard Ultra.

Northwood Technical College is thrilled to announce that two of its esteemed instructors, Michaela Hudson and Laurie Simon, have been awarded the prestigious Exemplary Course Program (ECP) Award for their exceptional work in Blackboard Ultra, the college’s innovative online learning platform powered by Anthology. These instructors' courses are celebrated for their excellence in integrating technology with education, enhancing the student learning experience, and setting a new standard in online course delivery.

 

Michaela Hudson, architectural commercial design instructor, and Laurie Simon, administrative coordinator instructor, received this recognition for their cutting-edge course designs that excelled in four critical areas:

  • Course Design: Both courses feature a well-constructed framework that clearly outlines learning objectives and employs effective instructional strategies.
  • Interaction and Collaboration: They offer exceptional levels of student engagement with numerous opportunities for collaboration and interaction.
  •  Assessment: Robust evaluation mechanisms aligned with learning outcomes provide meaningful assessments of student achievement.
  • Learner Support: Comprehensive support resources are available to students, ensuring a supportive learning environment within and outside the course structure.

The Exemplary Course Program, established nearly two decades ago, continues to honor outstanding educators and instructional designers globally. Both Hudson and Simon will be highlighted within the Anthology Community, a platform that connects educators worldwide to share insights and inspire growth.
