Hospitality Foundations is a short-term technical diploma. The program required courses and methods of instruction are developed for students with intellectual disabilities or other obstacles that may hinder the transition into skilled training programs.
Program Overview
Hospitality Foundations is a 16-week program preparing students for career opportunities in the area of entry-level hospitality and other customer service employment settings. This skills-based training is developed to help students learn essential hospitality duties through interactive course activities and community-based training experience while enhancing personal awareness, career effectiveness, and professionalism.
Program Outcomes
Employers will expect graduates of this program to be able to:

In this program, students should be able to meet specific technical standards, which are the essential skills and abilities needed to be successful in a program, with or without reasonable accommodation. It is important to review and understand these standards before applying to the program.

Designed for the hands-on learner, the program targets skills needed for entry-level positions in the hospitality industry and enhances professional customer service, constructive and cooperative working relationships, ability to handle stressful situations and recognize positive interpersonal skills.

In this program, you'll learn by doing in an interactive, dynamic classroom environment.

Through the hospitality internship, students gain on-the-job experience in community-based placements.
